Not only am I trained and experienced, I'm also dedicated to furthering my education and developing myself as a leader, coach, and mental health professional.
While working toward a bachelor's in Social Work, I have also sought training and education through NICABM (National Institute for the Clinical Application of Behavioral Medicine), NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), and an intensive 7-month leadership program through Landmark Worldwide. I am a certified Emotional Intelligence Life Coach, Cognitive Behavioral Coach, Mindset Coach, and Confidence Coach.
Plus, I've lived the story and rewrote it. PTSD was more than a diagnosis, it became a way of managing myself as that diagnosis. It was MY ptsd in every conversation, until I had a breakthrough and learned how to put the past where it belongs, and how to put a diagnosis in its place.
Understanding the machinery we're operating is the first step in the process of healing, changing, or developing ourselves.
After we learn how the brain and nervous system work, we can begin to see how our programming has taken over and where we can update old, outdated code. Through neuroplasticity and language, we can begin to rewire the brain and create new contexts for living.

The free martial arts and mindset workshop is four and a half hours long and usually runs from 12 pm to 4:30 pm. Short self-defense seminars lack the necessary amount of drilling time, which is hands-on training and practice.
We begin with a warm-up game, stance/posture, and footwork, and then move into wrist grab escapes. Other techniques we cover are bear-hug escapes, headlock defense, technical stand-ups, and a powerful, yet simple, sweep from the ground.
Mindset work is interwoven throughout the workshop, offering breaks and cooldown times for the body, while allowing us to look at our lives and commitments from a new, empowering perspective.
Mindset coaching is an interactive experience where we discover ways of being that interfere with what we're committed to.
The martial arts portion focuses on easing participants into the movements and building confidence through repetition while regulating the nervous system.

You also have the right to refuse video recording of the martial arts seminar.
For self defense, you should continue training regularly and consider signing up at a local gym or school and learning from a black belt. However, you're welcome to attend as many free events as you want. You'll begin to notice a difference in your abilities and skills within hours of starting training.
The same goes for mindset coaching and personal development. It is a mountain with no top, and you will walk away from each session having gotten something of value that you can put to use in your life right away.
